In Brooklyn, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New York, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Brooklyn is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Brooklyn follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

THIS PLACE IS GREAT! As soon as you step into the magical setting filled with a beautiful selection of plants & flowers, your imagination and creativity go wild. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable and welcoming, every time. I popped in for a small gardening tool this morning and walked out with it, a big smile, and plans to return. Visit soon & you will see what I’m talking about πŸ’ Thanks CGC in Red Hook!!!

I can’t speak highly enough of this place. If you want to deal with lovely people and receive great service, look no further. We visited recently to pick up some plants for our new planters. We are novice gardeners and found David (the owner) and his team incredibly helpful. They showed us around, made some suggestions of plants that suited the sub exposure and our goals then calibrated what they showed us based on our feedback of aesthetic preferences. They were so patient with us! After we got home, we had concerns about the soil we had as it had previously housed bamboo which is highly invasive and we were worried that there was some leftover in the soil and would end up sprouting and taking over the planters. David spent 20 minutes on the phone to help us determine a course of action. Now that’s customer service!

For those outside of Red Hook, it's worth the trek. Incredibly diverse selection, well organized (shade, sun, etc.), better prices than you'll get at closer garden centers. Also, the team is exceptional! I brought the dimensions for each of my empty planters and Gina curated a perfect mix. She even told me which perennials would need larger planters next year. Highly recommend!

This will be my go to spot for plants, especially larger pieces. A little out of the way for us, but completely worth the trip. Every plant looked in great condition and well cared for. Everything was well organized. They have great selection of indoor and outdoor plants and pots. The staff is super helpful and friendly. We picked up a small pine and a pot for our balcony and are thrilled with choice.

What a fun gem of a garden center. I always like to search for plant stores when I’m in different areas, and on a side quest from ikea.. stumbled upon here. The staff was helpful. Plants are well taken care of. I was informed they have another location in Williamsburg as well! I look forward to checking them out in the future. I couldn’t leave empty handed, and left with a small Norfolk pine and a poinsettiaβ€” along with a few watering trays (can’t really ever have enough of those). Anyway, 10/10 would recommend to any plant lover.. I look forward to visiting again in the Spring.
